What could be better than 10 chickens?

Answer: 2 Shetland ponies!

To surprise Grandma B for her 60th birthday, Grandpa B bought 2 Shetland ponies and a buggy. Here are the kids getting pony rides at Willa's 1st birthday party.

Brielle's question of the day

I bought some graduation cards the other day for the upcoming parties we have been invited to. I was tucking them away in this basket where I keep greeting cards, envelopes, stationary, etc....

Brielle was watching and she asked me...

"What are you doing, Mom? Are you doing e-mail?"

The Latest Attraction

Grandma & Grandpa B have something new at the farm...
Josie & Brielle are figuring out how to get this door unlocked.
John's peeking in also to check out the excitement.

Inside are 10 egg-laying chickens!

The cousins have enjoyed seeing the chickens and searching for new eggs every time we visit. Grandma & Grandpa have been sending eggs home with the kids. Brielle was SOO excited about bringing home 4 eggs. On the way home from the farm that day she said, "Can we stop and show Grandma Carol the eggs?" Brielle has been telling everyone about her eggs.
Then, after a few days we realized that Brielle thought we were just going to KEEP the eggs in the refrigerator. She didn't want anyone to eat them. The next time we were at the farm Tim said to his dad, "Hey, does someone want to tell my daughter that it's okay to eat the eggs?" :)
So after Grandpa B told Brielle, now Brielle is okay with us using them to make pancakes :).

How many cousins can you fit in a Gator?

Boofy Dress

We ordered this dress new off Ebay, as a potential dress for Brielle to wear for Jenny's wedding. It's a darling dress! (She didn't want to take her jammies off before trying it on... and we weren't forcing the issue since it was close to bed time :) ) We ended up returning the dress because it was too small-- too tight zippering the back. They don't have it available in a 4T. But the funniest thing was that Brielle refers to it as the "boofy dress" because we were talking about how poofy it was. :) And she has told me since then, "I didn't like that boofy dress. You have to send it in the mail." So the search continues.

Great Grandpa Joe

John & Brielle's great grandpa Joe was a John Deere engineer. After serving as a pilot in World War II, Joe worked for John Deere for 38 years. Joe was responsible for correcting problems in construction of industrial tractors, graders, skidders, and 4 wheel drive loaders.

Joe gave this tractor as a gift to Kristen's cousin Sam when Sam was a little boy. The Elinson family passed the tractor on to us, and our kids have a lot of fun with it. Grandpa Joe would be proud :).
