Christmas morning

 Christmas morning... looks like Santa was here!

John woke up before Brielle and came into our room.  (John is our early riser!)  It wasn't on his mind that it was Christmas morning... but after a few hints he remembered and went looking by the tree to see if Santa stopped by. He was excited about what he saw!  But he was also patient enough to wait and let Brielle sleep longer.  Tim, John & I ate some cereal breakfast.  After breakfast (probably just after 7:00 am), we told John to wake up Brielle and tell her that Santa came.  

He went into her room saying, "Brielle, wake up, Santa came!"  After two or three more times of saying this Brielle rolled over and mumbled, "Okay, I will come look, but then I am going back to bed."    Well, once she made it out to where the presents were, going back to bed wasn't on her agenda anymore :)

John loves his "John Deere" shirt... he used to say "John Deere, like me" when he was younger. 

John also was excited about his Imaginext dinosaur.

Brielle was MOST excited about her unicorn pillow pet, as that is what she had asked Santa for this year.

 Other Santa gifts for Brielle included: a puzzle, Barbie dentist, American mini dolls, jewelry box, headlamp, piggy bank, a belt, mittens, pajamas, a pink fleece jacket and a pink fleece blanket. 

John's other Santa gifts included a dog pillow pet, tool set with hat & tool belt, camouflage 

 tent, Hot Wheels race track, a puzzle, and a head lamp.

 John went to work quickly, fixing things around the house with his new tool set :).  He'd say "Mom, tell me what I can fix next."  I gave him several things to "fix."  Then later John & Brielle enjoyed some of the gifts that Santa gave them to share, especially this arts & craft set. 

Later in the day, we went to two Christmas gatherings-- one for Grandma B's side and the other for Grandpa B's side.  

It wasn't a white Christmas this year... and while Brielle was eating breakfast she looked outside and said with some concern... "It is supposed to be snowing right now... why is it not snowing?"  

(No, snow was not in the forecast, but in her mind she already had the association of Christmas and snow!)
