1st days of school, K and pre-K

Brielle started Kindergarten this year!  She has loved every day of it :).   It was a very smooth transition for all of us.  She is excited to go in the morning, and Grandma Carol drives her.  She is excited at the end of the day, and runs to us (usually Tim picks her up) for a big hug.  Each night she wants us to see all of her work in her folder.  Brielle's favorite class is art.  She is in a class of 20 and has many new friends.  She knew about 5 classmates from her pre-K class. 

She has a wonderful, sweet teacher... who can also be silly and knows how to make kindergarteners laugh!  Ms. K said Brielle doesn't miss any details.  For example, if the teacher says something earlier in the day that is going to happen and later it happens in a different way, Brielle says to her teacher, "But you said that we were going to..."   

I love seeing her in her school uniform-- so cute!  It makes getting dressed a little easier in the morning too... for someone like Brielle who likes to put a lot of thought into things.  Brielle usually chooses to take cold lunch to school.  Tim packs her lunch.  One day he sent a note along that said "I ♥ U Brielle.   Love, Dad"   Brielle said everyone in the lunchroom -even the lunch ladies- wanted to see her note that day! 

A couple days later, it was John's first day of preschool.   John was also very proud and excited.  He is really enjoying school also, and it was another smooth transition.  He was somewhat familiar with the routine since he had helped me take Brielle to that very same classroom last year.

Then, my favorite story about John's first day...

After he hung up his backpack, washed his hands, found his name tag and chose an activity to play with... Grandma Carol said to Brielle, "Should we go to your classroom now?"  Brielle said,"Yes" and Grandma Carol said, "Okay then say 'Bye' to John."

Brielle said, "Bye, John.  Bye, John.  Bye, John.  John- BYE!  John... John... John... Grandma, he can't hear me."

He was already having too much fun!  Love it :)
